What is Healing?

The practice of healing is as old as mankind. Healers give contact healing via the hands and distant healing by thought transference, prayer and the Radionic Instrument. Manipulation and drugs are forbidden. Increasing recourse to healing by the public and the medical profession are testimony to its efficacy.

To the medical profession healing is offered only at the physical and psychological level to which they are trained. It is offered by healers because it works, like aspirin and many other drugs which were adopted by medicine though no-one knew at the time how they worked. Healing is holistic. It can help to restore health at all levels irrespective of the medical diagnosis or where ill health has manifested itself. It may be given for any illness, stress or injury as a therapy which has no side effects and is complementary, not an alternative to any other treatment. It can relieve pain or restore function. It is of particular value when a patient has reached a stable state less satisfactory than desired, and improving a patient's quality of life in long term and terminal illness.

Healing may be given at the practitioner's healing centre, at the patients home and in hospital wards (with Charge Nurse permission). Healing is becoming increasingly available in hospitals and GP's clinics under the auspices of the NHS. Healing must be seen as strictly complementary to orthodox medicine and Healers are forbidden to take responsibility for medical diagnosis, use manipulation, prescribe drugs, or to interfere in the medical regime.

Healing and Belief

Healers believe that they channel energy from an external source and that Healing works also at the spiritual level. Like doctors, healers may possess various religious and philosophical beliefs. A patient need have no faith himself and no more knowledge of his healer's philosophy than of his doctor’s religion or lack of it. We therefore reject the term 'Faith' healing. Healing is acceptable in most religious teachings. Healers are drawn from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and other sources. Most healing is given on a non-denominational basis irrespective of belief.

How do Healers Work?

The healer has the ability to link with the healing power within the Universe and is able to channel it to you. This is a simple and gentle process. The healer with usually begin by standing behind you and lightly placing their hands upon your shoulders as a means of attuning with you and the healing source. They will then place their hands upon, or a short distance away from your head, probably the area which is giving you problems, and elsewhere as they are inspired.

At all time they will be sensitive to your modesty. (Do tell the healer if you do not wish to be touched at all, they will adjust their technique accordingly).

During the healing treatment, try to relax as much as possible. The healer may help you with this process if necessary through a variety of breathing and visualisation techniques, whilst also making sure you are comfortably seating/lying down.

How long should I have healing?

Sometimes one treatment is sufficient, but it is often progressive and the results are gradual. Do not become discouraged if early results are not forthcoming. You may begin to realise you are calmer, healthier and more confident. It is rare for anyone to attend for a period on a regular basis without benefiting.
