What is Nutrigenetics?

The basic idea is this:

Your genetic makeup is fixed at birth, your DNA. You may have inherited genes that put you at a higher risk of developing illnesses like cancer, heart disease or diabetes, just to name a few.

The impact of those genes can be influenced by what you eat.

This is still a very young science. You may put its birthday on June 2000, when Prime Minister Tony Blair and President Bill Clinton announced the Human Genome Project.

There is still very little available in terms of products that reach the consumer. But it makes a lot of sense to make use of what is available.
