What is Touch For Health?

Touch for Health was developed by John Thie. He was an American Doctor of Chiropractic. He wanted to develop a holistic system of healthcare where people could, with training, help others to attain and maintain good health. It is a blend of Chiropractic, Kinesiology, Nutrition and Acupressure. It is designed around simple, safe methods that help people to heal. A definition might be: Touch for Health is the science of energy balancing. It is suitable for people of all ages and physical condition. A person carrying out a Touch for Health session does not diagnose, prescribe or treat in any way any named disease.

What happens in a Touch for Health session?

A Touch for Health session is based around pre and post muscle testing. The muscle testing is used as a biofeedback mechanism to give an indication of what is going on. Simply put, the person carrying out the session tests a muscle. They then touch some part of the body. They then retest the muscle and note what changes have taken place. These might be a change in physical posture, a change in the person's mental outlook or a change in their emotional life. The muscles which are used and rebalanced are those which appear to be involved when mind-body interactions take place. The system works at the connection between mind and body using the body's own electromagnetic system which are known as meridians.
